A mother of two children under the age of 3, I thought that I might have pulled something in my back from picking up the kids all day because my left side was extremely tender and sore.

I woke up with a small patch of hives on my right side of my body. I thought I may have been bit by a few mosquitos. I went for a hike and noticed my back pain on my left side becoming more and more intense. It felt like a pulled muscle with frequent sharp jolting pains.

I noticed red blotchy lesion type spots on my stomach and when I touched one it popped. My first real thought was, "What the F**k!" What is going on? Each day the pain in my back got progressively more intense and now I'm having massive headaches.

My youngest is 9 months old and she is still breastfeeding and when I finished feeding her I noticed a couple of bumps under my left breast that quickly turned into a red rash that was tender and sensitive to the touch.

Can I still breastfeed?
You can as long as you're covered and there's no contact with the blisters but once the pop or ooze you can give someone the chicken poxs. I didn't want to risk it so I've been pumping my milk instead.

I woke up to it spreading across my torso and to my back, but only on one side of the body. As I laid down in pain, I could feel the bottom right corner of my lip begin to swell up like a balloon. I freaked out, ran to my husband and told him there was something seriously wrong with me. I was still within the 72 hour mark to go to the doctor for medication. But once discussing it over with my husband and sent these photos to my father-in-law who's in the medical profession we decided to treat it through herbs, vitamins, ointments and lots of water. Antibiotics just lower your immune system which is already compromised. The swelling of my lips was an indication that my lympnoids were working in overdrive.

The pain started with being sore, then dramatically changes to excruciating pain. Feels like you're being stung by thousands of bees all at the same time, stinging you with hot needles.
Once again my lip swelled up but this time my upper lip. Then came the hot flashes and chills all throughout the day. With an onset of more headaches and itchy swollen palms. Then the sporadic intense pain that feels like razors scrapping my skin and this is only day 4 of the rash.
Is this normal? Are Shingles really this painful? The answer... YES!
- Burning sensation
- Hot needles pricking your skin
- Hot Flashes
- Chills
- more Headaches
- Intense sharp pains that feel like razor blades scrapping down to your muscle
- Heart pains (I've read some felt like they were having a heart attacks)
I continued with my vitamin regime and continued with the honey and licorice root even though it's quite messy. Your body heats up the honey and it drips and runs everywhere. So, I wrap myself with surgical pads and tape.

Today, my right eye is very puffy and swollen and my hands are itchy with swollen palms from hives. The pain I am feeling is unbearable. My skin is starting to become inflamed and red patches are popping up everywhere. I can't lay down on my left side and the thought of clothing touching my skin makes me scream. At night I lay on my right side trying to not turn onto my left side. I stay up at night and watch comedies because I am unable to sleep.

While living in Peru, a friend of mine had accidentally dropped scalding hot tea on her chest which immediately blisters and it was suggested she apply "Dragon's Blood." A week later you would never have known she had burnt herself.
The pain is unbearable, I apply the Dragon's Blood to my front to see if there is any relief and the relief is immediate. I lay in bed in confusion because I can't apply it to my back. Am I feeling relief? I can still feel my back stinging in pain. But do I feel my front? I drift off to sleep.

I apply the Dragon's Blood to the front and back, feeling relief for the first time in almost a week. Usually, plant medicine doesn't have instant results. But Dragon's Blood made me feel comfortable. That is HUGE!!!
I apply the Dragon's Blood every 4 hours or when necessary.

That night was the most intense night of my life. I wasn't able to apply it in the middle of the night and I thought I was gonna die! It was the worst pain I've ever felt in my entire life and I have had a baby naturally.
Today, the blisters stopped growing but they have spread to my face and jawline. I noticed a redness on my right breast, so I applied the Dragon's Blood on the spot.
Can Shingles affect both sides? The answer is... YES!!!

I slept the whole night and my blisters are starting to scab and dissipate. No oozing yet and I have been very careful about popping the blisters. Popping the blisters could scar and a majority of my body is covered. So, I'm trying to prevent that from occurring.
I applied Dragon's Blood every 8 hours. The pain is still there but it's more of an irritating feeling.
The blisters look awful but I feel much better and definitely bearable.
